abstract |
A method for producing a parahydroquinone compound by selectively hydroxylating a para-position of a phenol compound. In the production method, a cytochrome P450 derived from a microorganism belonging to the genus Bacillus or a functionally equivalent variant thereof, or a cytochrome P450 or a functionally equivalent variant thereof is added to a phenol compound having no substituent at the 4-position. The phenol compound is selectively hydroxylated at the para position by the action of a microorganism capable of expressing the phenol compound. [Selection diagram] None |
