titleOfInvention Wood chip pretreatment method and high brightness kraft pulp manufacturing method
abstract A first object of the present invention is to improve the digestibility of pulping eucalyptus single wood chips or mixed wood chips containing the eucalyptus wood with a kraft cooking liquor. Another object of the present invention is to provide a method for pretreating wood chips which can be improved in a short time and at low cost. A second object is to provide a technique for producing low-cost, high-brightness kraft pulp by subjecting unbleached kraft pulp produced by the pretreatment method to TCF bleaching or ECF bleaching. A pretreatment is performed in which a hard-pulping and hard-bleaching Eucalyptus single chip or a mixed chip containing the Eucalyptus material is subjected to a hot water extraction step and then an alkali extraction step. By doing so, cooking and bleaching properties can be simultaneously improved at low cost, and a high whiteness kraft pulp can be produced.
