abstract | Provided are an electrophotographic photosensitive member, an image forming apparatus, and a process cartridge which have excellent image characteristics and can suppress generation of ozone, nitrogen oxide, and the like during charging. An electrophotographic image forming method includes a step of contacting a charging member with a photosensitive member, applying a voltage to the charging member, injecting a charge from a contact portion between the charging member and the photosensitive member, and charging the photosensitive member. In the electrophotographic photoreceptor used, the photoreceptor has a conductive support 11, a photosensitive layer 12 and a charge injection layer 13 formed thereon, and the charge injection layer 13 contains a particulate organic charge generation material.
