abstract | Kind Code: A1 The present invention provides high transfer efficiency when a latent image carrier on which an electrostatic latent image is formed is overlaid during development or when overlaid upon transfer to a transfer material after development. Provided are a toner capable of extremely reducing the amount of waste toner, and a downsizing of the image apparatus itself, a manufacturing method thereof, and an image forming apparatus using the toner. In the toner of the present invention, at least four colorants are internally added to toner base particles, and hydrophobic silica particles and metal soap particles are externally added, respectively, to form an electrostatic latent image. A work function difference (absolute value) between a plurality of color toners which are superimposed when the latent image carrier is developed or superimposed when transferred to a transfer material after development. Is 0.02 eV or more, and color superimposition is performed sequentially with toner having the largest work function, and the difference (absolute value) between the work function of the toner base particles and the work function of the metallic soap particles.
