| abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide a method and an apparatus for pretreating an ion exchanger used in an ion exchange treatment or an electric desalination treatment before use to solve problems caused by eluted substances and the like. As a means for solving the above problems, the present invention is a method for pre-treating an ion exchanger before use, comprising disposing an unused ion exchanger in a liquid under an electric field. And a method for pretreating an ion exchanger. In still another aspect of the present invention, a liquid tank is provided with a liquid supply and discharge mechanism, in which an unused ion exchanger is disposed, and an electrode for applying an electric field to the liquid in the liquid tank.
