abstract A gaming machine is provided which alleviates player dissatisfaction caused by occurrence of a reach state in which a so-called reach action is not performed during a probability change or during working hours. Once a reach variation pattern is determined, a variation pattern is selected from random number values stored in a reach mode determination random number memory using a data table shown in the figure. There are six types of variation patterns, of which variation pattern 6 is a variation pattern that does not go through reach. According to such a data table, even in the case of out-of-reach determination, reach may not be achieved. As a result, the frequency of occurrence of the reach is suppressed, and the reach in which the reach action is not performed is reduced, so that the opportunity for giving the player a sense of discomfort is reduced.
