titleOfInvention Underwater or water beach environment improvement method
abstract An object of the present invention is to provide excellent effects on beach nourishment, creation of shallow fields, eelgrass beds and tidal flats, prevention of scorching of seashore, prevention of red tide, prevention of blue tide, etc. Provided is a method for improving the environment of underwater or water beaches, which has no risk of damage to humans or water. A blast furnace blast slag having a calcium carbonate film formed on the surface of slag particles as an environment improving material is installed in water or on a beach, and the blast furnace blast slag has a nearly spherical shape. It has a smooth surface, so there is almost no risk of damaging people or organisms when laid in water or on a beach, and it also has a function of purifying sediment and water quality by CaO and a function as a source of silicate ions. Therefore, it has excellent performance as a laying material to be laid on a water bottom or a beach, and can provide a habitat environment suitable for a wide variety of creatures including benthic creatures living on sandy land. In addition, since the calcium carbonate film is formed on the surface of the slag particles, elution of S from the slag particles and an increase in the pH of water around the slag particles in the initial stage of the precipitation can be suppressed.
