abstract | Provided is an image forming method which has good dot reproducibility and prevents carrier adhesion without disturbing a latent image, and is capable of obtaining a high-durability and high-quality full-color image. In an image forming method according to the present invention, an amorphous silicon-based electrostatic latent image carrier having a surface resistance of 1 × 10 10 to 10 16 Ω and a two-component developer, and at least a binder resin and magnetic particles are used. By using a magnetic carrier having particles made of a hard ferrite material as a core material and further having a resin layer containing non-magnetic metal oxide particles on its surface, the carrier specific resistance is at least 5.0 × 10 13 Ω · cm. With high resistance and effective magnetic characteristics for preventing carrier adhesion. A high-quality image can be obtained by applying an alternating electric field and performing development while bringing the developer magnetic brush using such a carrier into contact with the latent image carrier.
