Novel methanol-assimilating bacterium and method for producing L-serine using the same |
abstract |
An object of the present invention is to provide an efficient method for producing L-serine and a novel methanol-assimilating bacterium that can be used in the method. Kind Code: A1 A bacterium belonging to the genus Methylobacterium and having a serine pathway or a crushed product thereof is prepared from glycine and methanol having a molar ratio of glycine to methanol of 1: 0.8 to 1: 5.5. Produce L-serine. Provided is Methylobacterium sp. RFS-10129, a novel methanol-assimilating bacterium belonging to the genus Methylobacterium isolated from soil and having a serine pathway.
