abstract A stable injectable composition is provided. A composition for delivering a stable bioactive compound to a subject, comprising a first component and a second component, wherein the first component comprises a saccharide containing a bioactive agent. It consists of fine particles of glass or phosphate glass. The sugar glass or phosphate glass optionally contains a glass formation accelerator compound and the second component comprises at least one biocompatible liquid perfluorocarbon in which the first component is insoluble and dispersed.
