A method for efficiently producing high-purity cis, cis-decahydro-2-naphthol is provided. By catalytic reduction of 2-naphthol in an isopropanol solvent using an R-Ni catalyst, the production of by-products can be suppressed and decahydro-2-naphthol can be obtained as a main product. Further, by distilling off the solvent and collecting the precipitated crystals, only cis and cis-decahydro-2-naphthol can be obtained as white crystals from among the many stereoisomers produced. |
