titleOfInvention | Method for producing maleic anhydride |
abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing high-purity maleic anhydride without separation treatment of low-boiling substances. A crude maleic acid-containing aqueous solution is supplied to an azeotropic dehydration tower, and azeotropic dehydration is performed using an azeotropic solvent that azeotropes with water. A method for producing maleic anhydride from the bottom liquid of an azeotropic dehydration tower, wherein an organic solvent having a maximum dissolution concentration of maleic acid at a temperature of 20 ° C. of 0.2% by mass or more is used as an azeotropic solvent. In addition, the top pressure of the azeotropic dehydration column is set to 900 hPa or less, and the concentration of the azeotropic solvent contained in the bottom liquid in the azeotropic dehydration column is set to 3000 mass ppm or less. According to the present invention, a low-boiling substance containing an azeotropic solvent can be efficiently separated in an azeotropic dehydration step. Acids can be produced.
