abstract An object of the present invention is to provide an efficient method for producing an oxide having a NaCl-type crystal structure having high orientation in the <111> direction in cubic crystal display. A general formula: M o A p O q [Wherein, M represents a transition metal element, A represents an alkali metal element, and O represents oxygen. o indicates 0 <o <1, p indicates 0 <p <1, and q indicates 0 <q <1 (provided that o + p + q = 1). Has a hexagonal or trigonal crystal structure, and heat-treats an oxide having orientation in the <001> direction in hexagonal notation, General formula: M x A y O z [Wherein, M represents a transition metal element, A represents an alkali metal element, and O represents oxygen. x indicates 0 <x <1, y indicates 0 ≦ y <1, and z indicates 0 <z <1 (where x + y + z = 1).
