PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording paper having a highly ink-absorbing void structure by using minimum necessary solid fine particles and a hydrophilic binder. SOLUTION: In an ink jet recording paper having a void layer on a support, the support is a hydrophobic support, and at least one layer of the void layer contains a hydrophilic binder and inorganic fine particles.
