titleOfInvention Method for modifying silicate compound
abstract An object of the present invention is to provide a method for controlling the molecular weight of a silicate compound, which is reproducible and has no problem in the stability of the obtained condensate. In a method for modifying a silicate compound in which a silicate compound having an alkoxy group bonded to an average of 6 or more Si atoms is reacted with a diol to obtain a reaction mixture, the diol has a molecular weight of 160 or less, and the reaction mixture has a molecular weight of 160 or less. Wherein the SiO 2 concentration of the silicate compound is 70% or more of the SiO 2 concentration of the silicate compound, and the modified silicate obtained by this method has a diol having a molecular weight of 160 or less. It has a structure in which silicate units obtained by removing one alkoxy group from a condensate of tetraalkoxysilane are bonded to oxygen atoms at both ends of a diol unit obtained by removing hydrogen atoms from two hydroxyl groups.
