abstract An object of the present invention is to provide a bipolar battery capable of preventing overcharge of a unit cell layer and charging each unit cell layer without variation. A bipolar battery (30) according to the present invention includes a current collector (1) having a positive electrode active material layer (2) formed on one surface and a negative electrode active material layer (3) formed on the other surface. In the bipolar battery 30 laminated with the layer 4 interposed therebetween, the positive electrode active material layer 2 contains lithium spinel manganese oxide as a variable electrode active material, and the negative electrode active material layer 3 contains lithium titanate as a constant electrode active material . The variable electrode active material has such a characteristic that when it substantially reaches the charging capacity (charging rate 100%) of the variable electrode active material at the time of charging, the voltage rises more than before reaching. Even when the charge reaches the charge capacity of the active material (charge rate 100%), the voltage changes at the same change rate as before the charge reaches. [Selection diagram] FIG.
