abstract An object of the present invention is to eliminate active oxygen, suppress the production of lipid peroxide in the skin, promote the ability of skin cells to produce hyaluronic acid, suppress the resolution, and further promote the aquaporin synthesis of skin cells. Provided are an active oxygen scavenger, a hyaluronic acid synthesis acceleration / decomposition inhibitor, and an aquaporin synthesis accelerator having an excellent moisturizing property for skin, improving rough skin, preventing aging and whitening. An active oxygen scavenger, an agent for accelerating and decomposing hyaluronic acid synthesis, and an agent for accelerating aquaporin synthesis, comprising an extract obtained from a plant belonging to the family Rhododendron.
