abstract In an electrode substrate having a metal wiring layer and a transparent conductive layer, deterioration of characteristics due to corrosion of the metal wiring layer and leakage current from the metal wiring layer is suppressed. A surface of the metal wiring layer is insulated and covered with an insulating layer. By configuring a photoelectric conversion element using such an electrode substrate 1, the metal wiring layer 12 is reliably shielded from an electrolyte solution or the like, its corrosion and leakage current are effectively suppressed, and a photoelectric conversion element having a high photoelectric conversion efficiency is provided. A conversion element can be obtained. The insulating layer 14 is preferably formed from a material containing a glass component, and is particularly preferably formed by printing a paste containing glass frit. Preferably, the metal wiring layer 12 is formed by a printing method. [Selection diagram] Fig. 1
