A method for producing a titanium oxide sol suitable for a photoelectric conversion element and a dye-sensitized photoelectric conversion element excellent in photoelectric conversion efficiency are provided. A method for producing a titanium oxide sol of the present invention is a method for producing a titanium oxide sol comprising a hydrolysis step of an ortho titanate ester and an acid contact dehydration step of a hydrolyzate produced by the hydrolysis step.
