titleOfInvention | External disinfectant |
abstract | An external germicidal disinfectant which is inexpensive, is effective against a wide range of microorganisms, and has no disgust when used. SOLUTION: Isopropanol is added to ethanol as an active ingredient, the content of which is 80 to 85 vol% of ethanol in the Japanese Pharmacopoeia and 3.7 to 10 vol% of isopropanol, so that bactericidal activity almost equivalent to ethanol for disinfection is obtained. By adding a small amount of isopropanol, which has safety (low toxicity) and low odor, it can provide an external germicidal disinfectant that is not averse to use and is economical, and can be added with a humectant such as glycerin. Thus, the addition of a coloring agent such as a tar dye, which can be used for medicines and the like specified by the Ordinance of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, improves discriminability, and prevents a medical accident due to misuse of a disinfectant.
