titleOfInvention Display device
abstract Kind Code: A1 Abstract: The intensity distribution of light after transmission or reflection is always dispersed in an optimum state regardless of the type of display device, and is set to a level at which almost no unevenness can be detected. A display device in which light emitted from a light source is transmitted or reflected and enlarged and projected on a display device in which a plurality of pixels are regularly arranged at a constant pitch, wherein a display device is disposed between the light source and the display device. A light diffusing plate composed of a combination of at least one or more birefringent plates is disposed, and light from the light source is separated by light having a refractive index, orientation, and thickness determined by the light diffusing plate composed of the birefringent plates. The separation pitch is shorter than the pixel pitch of the display device when the light is separated and incident on the display device at a pitch. [Selection diagram] Fig. 1
