abstract When marking a thermosensitive magnetic recording medium such as a ticket with an ink liquid, there is no danger of contamination of hands and clothes due to non-adhesion of the used ink liquid, and a new mark color can be arbitrarily changed. Provided are a marking method, and a sheet-like substrate and a marking tool used in the method. A method for marking a sheet-like substrate, wherein a colorless leuco dye is used to mark a color on the developer layer of the sheet-like substrate having a developer layer on at least a part of its surface.
