PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-phosphorus API-CI-4 heavy-duty diesel lubricating oil composition that can be used in an engine having a cooling EGR system, wherein the engine has an aftertreatment device including an oxidation and / or reduction catalyst. To establish a composition suitable for use. A lubricating oil composition having a TBN of at least about 8, comprising: (a) a large amount of lubricating viscous oil; and (b) an amount of phosphorus introduced into the lubricating oil composition of 0.06% by mass or less. One or more metal salts of dihydrocarbyl dithiophosphate; (c) at least 1.2% by weight of a hindered phenol antioxidant; and (d) at least 200% by weight of boron provided in the lubricating oil composition. A lubricating oil composition comprising ppm of boron and / or a boron-containing compound. |
