abstract An object of the present invention is to provide a technique capable of controlling the introduction ratio of a phenol compound to be introduced and the introduction ratio of two or more phenol compounds when a phenol derivative of lignin is obtained from a lignocellulosic material. (A) a step of adding an acid to a lignocellulosic material previously affinityd with a first phenol compound to obtain a primary lignin phenol derivative; Adding an acid to the n-th lignin phenol derivative to obtain an (n + 1) -th lignin phenol derivative, wherein n is a total of N times from 1 to N (N is an integer of 1 or more).
