titleOfInvention | Alkoxyacrylic acid aryl ester derivatives and method for producing the same |
abstract | An alkoxy acrylate aryl ester derivative which is a useful synthetic intermediate of esculetins such as esculetin and 4-methylesculetin which are known to have cholesterol lowering, vascular reinforcement, and antioxidant effects, and the compound Is to use a raw material which is industrially easy to synthesize and available in large quantities, has no toxicity problem, and provides a method for industrially producing the compound in good yield. SOLUTION: An alkoxyacrylic acid or a 3,3-dialkoxypropionic acid is reacted with a thionyl halide to synthesize an alkoxyacrylic acid halide or a 3,3-dialkoxypropionic acid halide, without isolation. By heating and refluxing in the presence of an organic solvent and adding the phenol derivative to the mixture, an arylalkoxyacrylate derivative can be produced in good yield.
