titleOfInvention | Method for producing 4-alkoxy-4'-hydroxydiphenyl sulfone |
abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing 4-alkoxy-4'-hydroxydiphenylsulfone industrially and advantageously with high purity and high yield. A liquid-containing 4,4′-dihydroxydiphenyl sulfone obtained by a dehydration reaction between phenol and a sulfonating agent or phenolsulfonic acid in a solvent is reacted with an alkyl halide in the presence of an alkali. More preferably, the 4,4′-dihydroxydiphenyl sulfone in a liquid state is a suspension or a wet solid. More preferably, the alkyl halide is isopropyl halide. [Selection diagram] None |
