A retardation increasing agent capable of imparting a desired retardation to an optical film without causing bleed out. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] One or more kinds of compounds are composed of molecular complexes formed by having a combination of functional groups that express intermolecular interactions in their structures, and the molecular complexes are represented by the following general formula (1). It is a retardation increasing agent for a cellulose ester film containing at least a keto-enol tautomerizable compound as a constituent element (wherein Q 11 is an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom or N (R 14 ); R 11 to R 14 each independently represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent, and R 11 and R 12 and R 11 and R 13 may be bonded to each other to form a ring structure).
