abstract An object of the present invention is to provide a colloidal crystal having a three-dimensional periodic structure which can be rapidly and simply prepared without requiring a special container or control of complicated conditions, and a method for producing the same. According to the present invention, a core-shell type fine particle having a core portion insoluble in water or a hydrophilic solvent and a shell layer solvated in the water or hydrophilic solvent forms a three-dimensional periodic structure. Colloidal crystals. Further, the present invention provides a dispersion in which core-shell type fine particles having a core portion insoluble in water or a hydrophilic solvent and a shell layer solvated in the water or hydrophilic solvent are dispersed in the water or hydrophilic solvent.
