titleOfInvention Image carrier, image forming apparatus and process cartridge
abstract An electric charge is generated when a contact charging device and a photosensitive drum rub against each other. This charge suppresses periodic horizontal streaks appearing on the output screen due to the factors. A surface protective layer to which an antistatic agent is added is provided on a photosensitive layer of a photosensitive drum. A photosensitive drum in which the surface protective layer is shaved by a mass with a cleaning member before printing, and the shaved amount is 100 times or more the photosensitive layer. With the above configuration, it is possible to suppress the generation of electric charge due to the rubbing between the contact charging member and the photosensitive drum, and to suppress the generation of periodic horizontal streaks on the output image. Further, since the surface protective layer is scraped off before printing, it does not adversely affect the image. [Selection diagram] Fig. 1
