A metal oxide can be uniformly coated on a surface of a core particle with a sufficient thickness, and the surface of each core particle can be easily and uniformly coated on each core particle without agglomerating the core particle during the coating. Coat metal oxide. A method for producing metal oxide-coated particles according to the present invention comprises the steps of: mixing a mixture containing a metal carboxylate and an alcohol, or a metal alkoxy group-containing compound and a carboxyl group-containing compound in the presence of core particles.
