abstract [PROBLEMS] To reduce the size of crystal grains and increase the mechanical strength even when used at a high temperature, to suppress the coarsening of the crystal grains even when using at a high temperature, to reduce the tritium retention amount, and to further reduce the mechanical strength and to be chemically stable. High performance tritium breeding material for high temperature is provided. SOLUTION: A lithium titanate is used as a base material, and an oxide other than lithium titanate is added thereto. A high temperature tritium breeding material comprising titanium oxide, niobium oxide, vanadium oxide, yttrium oxide, aluminum oxide, chromium oxide, manganese oxide, molybdenum oxide, beryllium oxide, calcium oxide, gadolinium oxide and / or zirconium oxide.
