titleOfInvention Vehicle control device
abstract A control device for a vehicle that enables smooth operation of the power source while reducing fuel consumed by the power source while the vehicle is stopped to improve practical fuel efficiency of the vehicle. A driving force generated by an engine is transmitted to a driving wheel (not shown) via an automatic transmission (AT). The engine 10 includes an electronic control throttle body 11 and the like, and the E-ECU 30 executes cooperative control as necessary so that an output corresponding to the load of the engine 10 is obtained. On the other hand, the AT 20 includes a torque converter, and the T-ECU 40 executes a neutral control that reduces the amount of oil interposed in the torque converter and lowers the power transmission efficiency under predetermined conditions. Even if the predetermined condition is satisfied in the T-ECU 40, if the E-ECU 30 detects a decrease in performance of the electronic control throttle body 11, etc., execution of the neutral control is prohibited.
