Provided is a polyimide whose electric conductivity is controlled without impairing mechanical properties, and a method for producing the same. A polyimide film containing powdered carbon fibers and polyimide as essential components and having a volume resistivity of 1.0 × 10 15 Ω · cm or less. The powdered carbon fiber is dispersed in a polyamic acid solution which is a precursor of polyimide, and the polyamic acid solution is formed into a film and then imidized to produce a film.
