abstract A gas generator capable of filling a gas generator with a larger amount of medicine while maintaining the combustion performance required for a non-azide-based gas generator, and a gas generator incorporating the same. SOLUTION: The gas generating agent whose constituent component is a non-azide compound, is characterized in that the shape of the molded product is such that the packing density with respect to the theoretical density can be 50% or more. The aforementioned shape is a columnar body having through holes parallel to the column axis direction, and the number of the through holes is 19, 37, 61, 91, 127, 169, 217, 271.
