abstract An object of the present invention is to obtain a thin large cast product by a low pressure casting method using a sand mold or a gypsum mold. An apparatus for manufacturing a thin large cast product which applies pressure to a surface of a light metal melt 2 stored in a crucible 3 and pushes the light metal melt 2 into a cavity 16 of a sand mold 11 via a stalk 21; A chamber in which the sand mold 11 has a cavity 16 for casting a thin large casting 25, a plurality of gates 17 are provided in the cavity 16, and the stalk 21 is capable of supplying an antioxidant gas or a combustion preventing gas 28 in the middle thereof. 29.
