titleOfInvention Alkaline storage battery
abstract Provided is an alkaline storage battery that suppresses a short circuit inside a battery due to resinous zinc deposited on a surface of a negative electrode when charging and discharging, thereby suppressing deterioration of the battery. An alkaline storage battery includes a positive electrode can, a positive electrode mixture, a separator, a negative electrode mixture, a negative electrode terminal, and an insulating packing. The separator 13A has a nonwoven fabric layer and a polymer microporous membrane layer having a three-dimensional network structure. The polymer microporous membrane is composed of at least a surfactant-treated or sulfonated polyolefin-based microporous membrane. The thickness of the polymer microporous membrane is in the range of 16 to 35 μm, and the porosity is 30 to 50%. This can suppress a short circuit inside the battery due to resinous zinc deposited on the surface of the negative electrode during charge / discharge, thereby suppressing deterioration of the alkaline storage battery.
