abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide a production method by which an oxide having high catalytic performance can be obtained in a simple step, and a method of polymerizing a cyclic ether using the obtained oxide as a catalyst. A compound containing a metal element belonging to Group 4 of the periodic table is supported on a carrier, and then calcined for a specific temperature range and for a specific time or more to produce an oxide. The cyclic ether is subjected to ring-opening polymerization using the oxide obtained by the above method as a catalyst to produce a corresponding polymer. [Selection diagram] None |
