SOLUTION: In order to purify a mixture of a metal hypochlorite aqueous solution and a chlorinated hydrocarbon compound produced by a reaction with a protonic acid, the mixture is converted into an alcohol compound with an aqueous alkali solution and then purified by solid-liquid separation. .
