abstract An object of the present invention is to provide a guide wire having high joining strength and excellent operability. A guide wire (1) is a catheter guide wire used by being inserted into a catheter. It has a wire 3, a third wire 5 disposed therebetween, a fourth wire 6 disposed on the distal end side of the first wire 2, and a spiral coil 4. In the guide wire 1, adjacent wires are connected to each other by welding, and the third wire 5 has a bondability by welding to the first wire 2, and a bondability by welding of the second wire 3 to the first wire 2.
