abstract A general object of the present invention is to provide an improved method and circuit for communicating on a serial bus. According to the present invention, a linking addressable shadow port (LASP) and protocol address a LASP using a single protocol or protocol bypass input and a plurality of secondary test accesses of the LASP. -Port (TAP) connection can be configured. Multiple LASPs are cascaded and their secondary TAP connections are configured using the LASP protocol or protocol bypass input. [Selection diagram] Fig. 1
