abstract Provided is an image forming apparatus that realizes a wide color reproduction range from a halftone to a high brightness area, which is important particularly when outputting a natural image or the like, and enables high-quality image formation. Kind Code: A1 A color image is formed using six types of toners: cyan, light cyan, magenta, light magenta, yellow, and black. Here, dark toners Cyan and Magenta and light toners LightCyan and LightMagenta having different densities and hues are used. Then, in the high brightness area, an image is formed using only the light toner, and in the halftone area, the image is formed by combining the dark toner and the light toner.
