abstract An object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing an amino-phenylpiperidine by catalytic hydrogenation of an amino-phenylpyridine without using highly corrosive hydrochloric acid and producing a desired product in a good yield and a good selectivity. An amino-phenylpiperidine is produced by reacting amino-phenylpyridine with hydrogen in a solvent in the presence of a catalyst containing palladium and platinum and an organic carboxylic acid.
