abstract An object of the present invention is to provide a novel group of ascidian-derived genes encoding a zinc finger protein, and an antibody against the protein. A novel zinc finger protein according to the present invention is a protein isolated from Aspergillus niger and is considered to be an important protein that binds to DNA and is involved in the regulation of transcription. This novel zinc finger protein derived from sea squirts is not only useful as a research material for studying and analyzing the temporal and spatial expression control mechanisms of developmental genes in sea squirts. It can be effectively used for the analysis of pathological conditions of various diseases related to the spatial control mechanism, the development of therapeutic agents, and the improvement of treatment.
