abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide a method for quantifying a terminal amino acid type organophosphorus herbicide in a sample with a simple operation, with high sensitivity, promptly and accurately. A sample containing a terminal amino acid-type organophosphorus herbicide is added to an aqueous solution of a metal complex of a complex-forming fluorescent reagent having an anthracene structure portion and a polyamine structure portion, and the pH is adjusted to a weakly acidic to neutral (preferably). After preparing an aqueous solution having a pH of 5 to 7), fluorescence is generated by excitation light, and the concentration of the terminal amino acid-type organophosphorus herbicide in the sample is determined based on the degree of increase in the fluorescence intensity. Alternatively, the fluorescence intensity is determined by comparing it with a calibration curve indicating the relationship between the concentration of the terminal amino acid type organophosphorus herbicide and the fluorescence intensity.
