abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exhibit an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitory activity and an arterial relaxing activity, show a sustained blood pressure lowering effect, show a similar blood pressure lowering effect to an aged person, and further have a blood cholesterol lowering effect. It is intended to provide a novel peptide as described above and a blood pressure lowering agent or a blood cholesterol lowering agent containing the same as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This novel physiologically active peptide represented by Arg-Ile-Tyr is obtained by hydrolyzing a rapeseed-derived protein with a protease. As the rapeseed-derived protein, oil or fat from rapeseed seeds is used. The removed oil cake is preferable, and subtilisin is preferably used as the protease. Further, such a peptide is used as a blood pressure lowering agent or a blood cholesterol lowering agent containing the peptide as an active ingredient. |
