abstract A flow index value measured by a dynamic viscoelasticity measuring device under a specific condition in a powder clear coating material for forming an overcoating film on an undercoating aqueous basecoat coating material is controlled to a desired range. [Effects] A two-coat, one-bake coating method can be obtained from an undercoat aqueous basecoat paint and a powder clear paint that forms an overcoat film having a thickness of 50 μm or less, comparable to the case of using a solvent-type clear paint as the overcoat paint. It is possible to provide a thermosetting multilayer coating film having excellent appearance characteristics, physical characteristics and chemical characteristics comparable to those at a practical level, and particularly suitable for exterior coating of vehicles such as automobiles or vehicle parts. Also, there is no need for conventional techniques such as “fine-graining” and “spheroidization” of the powder clear coating for the purpose of improving the appearance characteristics, and there is no need for a significant process change in its production.
