abstract | An efficient method for producing furanoses such as 2-deoxyribose, which has conventionally been difficult to produce industrially, is provided. SOLUTION: By heating while maintaining the pH at 7.1 to 8.0 which does not cause a decomposition reaction, furanoses such as 2-deoxyribose can be produced with high yield. As described above, it has become possible to obtain large-scale and stable high yields of furanoses such as 2-deoxyribose, which has been difficult to produce on an industrial scale.
