abstract An object of the present invention is to provide a method for efficiently producing a target phenolic resin compound by reducing unreacted raw material phenolic compounds remaining after a reaction. A method for producing a phenolic resin compound, comprising adding a dihydroxy compound represented by the following general formula (1) in a solid state to a phenolic compound and subjecting it to a dehydration condensation reaction with the phenolic compound.
