abstract |
The present invention provides a method for easily producing an optically active 6-sulfonyloxymethyl-1,3-dioxan-4-ylacetic acid derivative useful as a pharmaceutical intermediate from an inexpensive and easily available raw material in a short step. An optically active 5-hydroxy-3-oxo-6-sulfonyloxyhexanoic acid derivative is obtained by sulfonylating an easily available optically active 5,6-dihydroxy-3-oxohexanoic acid derivative in the presence of a base. Is produced and then reduced to produce an optically active 3,5-dihydroxy-6-sulfonyloxyhexanoic acid derivative, which is then acetalized in the presence of an acid catalyst.
