An object of the present invention is to provide a solid oxide fuel cell system which is advantageous for further improving power generation efficiency. A solid oxide electrolyte having ion conductivity, an anode provided on one side of the solid oxide electrolyte, and a cathode provided on the other side of the solid oxide electrolyte. A fuel cell supply passage for supplying fuel to the anode 11 and an oxidant supply passage for supplying an oxidant to the cathode 12 are provided. The operating temperature of the solid oxide electrolyte 10 varies depending on the site. The solid oxide electrolyte 10 is set so that the composition in the high temperature region T3 where the operating temperature is relatively high is different from the composition in the low temperature region T1 where the operation temperature is relatively low.
